oh sad
my poor little car is not happy!
she broke down saturday, so i left her at a friend's house.
i called reebie, the girl i bought the car from. she usually works on it. but she said she was too busy, and i should just take it in to her shop and one of the guys there would fix it for me.
so sunday i was lucky enough that a friend offered to use their aaa to get it towed for free to that shop.
then this morning they call me to let me know that they wont work on my car! apparently they don't do old cars....
did i mention, or did you know, that my car is a 1971 volvo? well, it is
so, they gave me a recomendation. called that place, they won't do it either! he tells me about another place, but that place isn't listed in the phone book. i am told its almost like a special club and you have ot know some one who knows someone to get them to work on your car...what the hell?
so same guy gives me a number to another volvo shop, who he already warns will not work on my car either, says to ask for bob, and they will give me the number for that exclusive shop.
call that, and they aren't open on mondays.
crap.....so then i figured i could wait till tomorrow to get the number to a place that may not give me the time of day, or figure something else out. but what?
so i call the guy who i buy my parts from. he deals specially in old volvo parts, because none of them are made anymore, so you have to get salvaged. he recomends a shop.
so i call that shop. they answer. i say "hey, i am havinga really hard time finding someone who will work on my 1971 volvo 142s, do you work on those?" so he resplies "yeah, for the right price!"
what the fuck!?!?!?
so i found one freakin place in this town that will even work on it and they are fuckers? its like the worlds most simple engine? even i am learning about it! its a manual, carburator with choke, no computer, simple, tiny engine! whats the prob!?!?!?!
but what choice do i have? so then i had to pay this timet o tow it to the other shop. he can't figure out whats wrong with it. says he will keep looking and call me tomorrow. great. i had really really hoped it would be something simple like the air/fuel mix or the points.
arg.
so i the meantime, i have returned to my life of bike commuting. which i like quite a bit. except that i only had a car for like 6 months, and of course those were the better weather months. now that its cold and rainy i am back to the bike. but hey, i put the fenders back on today!
