mini tour completion
oh jeeze, that was a blast...i just spent over 48 hours solid with 4 other member of dk pdx. we ate slept, drove and performed together all weekend. and it was a blast!
we went to eugene and bend to do two shos and a workshop this past weekend. the two events were so contrasting!
in eugene, literally 13 people payed the cover at the door. 2 of them were my friends. four of them stayed for 5 minutes and then left. the other were really there to play pool and hang out, not at all for the show. what the hell are we supposed to do with that? we didn't know either! so we did 3 quick number and said good night...then the owner told us that she had double booked the spare apartment at her house that we were supposed to say in, so we had to sleep in her rv that she continued to park on a very steep hill.
since none of us slept well, we busted out of eugene early the next day, and hit to road for bend. which ws such an amazing and beautiful drive! we saw these lava flows and forests...amazing!
then bend was the complete opposite of eugene! they freakin loved us! they put us up in a hotel, so we got showers and soaking in the hot tub. then they payed for a way yummy dinner. oh, and they were also the ones that rented us a mini van for a few days so we could get there and back without paying out of our pocket.
the show was amazing. it was a fundraiser for the human dignity coalition, folks were paying 10, 20 or more at the door! they absolutely packed the place with such an appreciative crowd!
we did 7 numbers, and they called for an encore at the end! they just kept hollering and cheering and clapping so enthusiastically. it felt amazing!
the next day at breakfast several different groups of folks came up to us to thank us and tell us we rock. the whole experience jsut felt great.
so then we drove our mini van on back to portland, but had to stop first at the alpine slide...fun fun fun!
now i am back, but tired and need a day off!
