So I picked up Fragile Dreams on Saturday and booted up the Wii today to try it out.
It's an interesting game. The graphics are charming and the main character kind of looks like a trap but I care what happens to him and I haven't even been exposed to him that long.
Except I do a No-Good Tsuna whenever the ghosts come out. Or rather, the malevolent "Thought Entities" pretty much being the negative energy left behind by people who resented their sudden deaths. Poultergeists, you could almost call them, except they're kind of cute and look a little like jellyfish. At least, the current ones. Except there's no background music in the subway station and whenever there are Thought Entities around creepy noises come from the Wiimote and you can't see them until like you're right on top of them. And then creepy music starts playing because you're practically fighting ghosts. Oh god. As if the demon thing in the beginning wasn't creepy enough. DX DX DX
Cue "ひいえええええええええ, 出た、出たあああああああああああああ!!” (Or, in non-moon runes, the basic gist is "HIEEEEEEEEEE, they came out, the ghosts came out!! D: D: D:"
It's mostly okay out in the main station where a skylight or something is letting in moonlight, but in the restrooms? OH GOD. Pitch black with only a flashlight's light and creepy sounds coming from the Wiimote = "HIIIEEEEEE NOOOOOO I'M LEAVING!! DX DX DX"
tl;dr Radish phobias:
1. Ghosts/the undead/the supernatural that does not involve cool powers and their use but rather creepy spectral/ectoplasmic stuff? OH EFF NO. I cannot do that.
2. the DARK. Which probably stems from a Japanese picture book my mother used to read me when I was a tyke in which a little boy stayed up too late and a ghost appeared and stole him away. And he was never seen again. Except that's never said because the story ends with the boy being spirited away. どうして、お母さん、どうして??
Anyway, the game gets a thumbs up from me but I'm too busy cowering over here where the sun is brighter. (I even turned on the lights in the room because I'm all "EEEK DARK WHY IS IT DARK UWAAAAAAHHHH")
... On another note, I acquired a 5927 anthology of work by several of the proficient 5927 doujin circles in which the stories are all about Gokudera and Tsuna where one or both are pretty much Lambo-sized. So cute. Wrong Direction's story is just... oh god. It's so cute I had to brush my teeth afterward. There's a Giannini-caused Ten Year Bazooka malfunction which turns 59 and 27 into little kids. Mini-Gokudera doesn't speak anything but Italian and mini-Tsuna gets bullied by Lambo until Gokudera stops him (and makes him cry, but, uh). And then there's this whole moment later where Nana's sort of checking up on the boys and mini-Tsuna goes "Tsu-kun and Hayato-kun are going to get married! :D" and mini-Gokudera says "I'm going to make Tsuna my wife! :D" and I went "pfft little kids oh god why are you so adorable /gleeee"
Okay, that's all the Radish inanity for now.
Ciao-ciao!
