[mod post] Purchasing digital releases & more online

Nov 05, 2009 21:47

Ever wanted to support your artists but it seems your purchases may not count towards their charts? Buy digitally from Mnet! =)

I've received some questions as to where you can buy some of your favourite albums and songs.
Sad but true that some are digital only meaning you can't buy those from Yesasia or G-Market for example.
I for one have wondered how to purchase directly from Mnet. Since the site is entirely in Korean.
Here's an incredibly helpful tutorial from afterschoolcraze.com found via Google (haha!). Each song costs 600 won or less than USD$1. Exchange rates as of 5th Nov 2009 state it to be about 50 cents (US currency). The Mnet site does view better with IE though.

You'll need
1. Mnet account
2. Credit card

These instructions are credited to afterschoolcraze.com and although it has closed, I've managed to retrieve the screenshots :D

NOTE: It is important that you use Internet Explorer browser to access the MNET site because Korean sites are programmed to cater to IE users.

If you already have an MNET account, you can go straight to the Purchasing Song section.

Registering an MNET account

1) Go to http://www.mnet.com

Purchasing Songs

1) Login into your account

I’m going to use 오백만원’s MNET account to buy him the song.

Depositing Money into Your Account

Choose the amount you wish to deposit. One song costs 600 won. So if you wish to just buy one song, you can choose 1,000 won (the first option).

When your money has been added to your account this message will pop up:

(sorry don’t have screencap for this) “회원님 감사합니다.”

It will also indicate the amount you have.

You can close the window.

Buying the ACTUAL song

You will be asked to install Quick Manager. Download and install it.

And that's it! And, just so you know, this post was derived from one found on Soshified: http://soshified.com/forums/index.php?&showtopic=20376&st=0#. And that Shosified post was in turn inspired by another post in SJ-world.net (can't find that exact post). So yea, members only for those tutorials. This Afterschool version therefore is the clearest of them all. With large fonts and caps.

Well then , do let me know if you have would like to share a tutorial on how to purchase music from other similar sites. And I'll update this post. ^^

Did you find this helpful? Drop me a comment. :D
