First the smarter passengers leave the sinking SS Darwin, then the rodents will follow. As often said these days, we are witnessing the last gurgles of 19C, Victorian materialism. Physics mutineers rowed away decades ago. Cpt. Dawkins will prolly go down with the ship, his fanatically loyal crew singing hymns to the secular saint of science, on the poop deck. Good riddance; like all dogmatists, they were bores. OGT

The SS Darwin remains central to biology - what you are witnessing is a debate about the fine details. Scientific debates can be noisy and abusive but are ultimately resolvable with a well designed experiment or a well constructed argument.
The contrast is with theology where nothing is testable and despite a total absence of communication the protagonists achieve complete certainty that their and only their variant is divinely sanctioned.
Scientific debate occurs at the boundaries of knowledge and the debate shifts as the boundaries are pushed back, listen to the debate and learn.

mein froind, bravo
