Living Homes

Wow! I've just figured out how to get the open-design, airy, contemporary, über-environmentally-friendly house that I'd someday like to live in.

It's to buy a Living Home. You simply must go to the web site and take the tour.

I really like these people. They've really thought of everything. It's reality -- not fantasy. It uses products and technologies available right this moment.

There are only two problems to my being able to realize this dream:

1. I don't live in the Los Angeles area.
2. I don't have $750,000.

Steve Glenn, the company founder and the voice in the tour's audio narration, acknowledges that their product is "moderately priced for the big cities," which is "expensive elsewhere." But they're "absolutely committed to aggressively reducing costs," he says, and he wants their homes to be "affordable and accessible."

So we can dream, right?
