This morning, I mentioned to my boss my interest in a five-day certification course, details of which just arrived in the mail. It's a follow-up to a
certification I earned a few months ago.
The course is being offered in San Francisco, Toronto, Philadelphia, and Chicago -- the latter is driving distance, so that's where I'm trying for. The kicker, though, is that the course fee plus travel costs would come to around $3600.
The most any boss of mine has ever spent on me to go anywhere or do anything is $750 -- for the training I got last fall. Heck, before that, my previous boss would fly herself all over the country but rarely spend more than 50 bucks on the rest of us.
So it feels like there's little more than zero chance of going. But it doesn't hurt to ask.
