Disgust
The body of Andrew Koenig was found yesterday in British Columbia. He appears to have committed suicide. His father and mother were in front of the cameras describing the wait while two teams searched for their son's body.
All of the major networks had to work --- "and his dad was Chekov on Star Trek..."
Like that had ANYTHING to do with the story. Of course, someone commiting suicide wouldn't be newsworthy if they weren't famous. All those unknowns would take up too much time to report ... and they wouldn't get to talk Star Trek during an obituary.
Sigh.
Unfortunately, this doesn't mean I have less respect for the news industry in this country - I lost all that a long time ago.
