Backsliding

My dad was put on Aircept, the new Alzheimer's drug and for the past couple of weeks has been more present than he has been for a year. In the past couple of days it is as if his body is building a resistance to the drug. He is confinced he bought the little nightstands next to the beds in his room. I have trouble dealing with my grandmother who was once smart as a whip. She still has her good days, but there are a lot of days during which she just sits and watches the world go past.

In the future I will have to deal with my mother who already lives mostly in a world of her own devising.
