Mono + Strep = an unhappy Kelley
Soooo it's finals week and I've come down with mono and strep throat... yes, at the same time. I've talked to my professors, advisors, health services, and basically anybody else here at ucsd and have worked it out so that I can take my finals after break. Now this can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. Good for my poli sci and solar system classes because I could use more time to write my poli sci essay and I could definitely use more time to study for solar system (Jesus, that could take years to study for), but pretty shitty for my making of the modern world course as well as my music course because I could basically be ready for those by Thursday when they're taking place. But anywho, my daddy is flying down Thursday morning and we'll be driving my car back up... so expect me sick and contagious back up in the bay by Thursday night ya'll! ha ha. But yeah.... just hope that you never get mono + strep throat at the same time because it is the most painful sore throat you will ever fucking have. I've had strep before and I thought THAT was terrible... nope... can't even swallow -- ANYthing -- with a sore throat like this. Luckily it's gotten a little better than yesterday and the day before because my doctor gave me steroids to help my tonsils shrink (they were hella swollen) and she gave me penicillin (spl?) for the strep. Plus I've been taking tylenol every fuckin 4 hours plus my regular meds.. goddamn I never thought I'd be takin' so many pills in my life! lol. Anyway enough complaining!! For the past week I've really realized how many caring people I have in my life. Not only have my parents -- who are fucking hunnndreds of miles away -- been extremely helpful, but also my suitemates. They've all been so supportive, giving me soup and what not. UCSD really has been starting to feel like home now...
