So its been a while since I've actually really talked here. The past couple weeks have been pretty darn busy, yet exciting. We had the big talent show I organized at camp, hung out with an out of town friend, visited Chicago with the family, and of course more fun times at Camp Canton.
Chicago was nice. I loved the Sears Tower and John Hancock buildings..along with all the other stuff we saw I mentioned in the previous entry. A homeless, drunk man wanted my sneakers..he came up to me and just started caressing them...yeah it was kinda weird. My dad was just like "uh Ryan we gotta go."
Nick wanted our band to play a full show at his birthday party the Wednesday before I move but there is just no way I could commit to it...we, however, will probably do a few songs around the other bands that will play. Speaking of Nick's birthday like 790987 of my friends have birthdays the past few weeks...well actually only like 6..Colleen, Jenelle, Matt, Holly..and soon Nick and Jason! ahhhh but it stinks because I can't really get people much this year...
I've talked to my roommate. He seems pretty nice...a lot more talkative and friendly than the last one. He goes by Ted. He seems like he likes to do his share of partying but also seems pretty laid back which is always good. Hopefully we'll be cool. I really need to look into the free loft I won so we can get that built.
I'll be sad for camp to be over but I'm also stoked about going back to MSU. Getting to see Enio, Mike, Rob, Jaret, Tim (not my ex-roomie), Alice, the Sideshow cast (not to mention living across from Lindsay and Georgiana!) will be great and it looks like there might be some good times in store with a new friend I've made as of late..which is always fun especially since this one seems pretty sweet.
The feeling in the air for me seems to be pretty good...even great lately. I can tell I'm really in a new era of my life compared to a year ago. My mental independence and security have really grown. I think it has a great deal to do with this fact: I have realized I'm very much capable of doing many things on my own--this realization especially includes recent social endeavors. I'm not waiting for people to spoon feed me things or people...if I'm curious about something or I want to talk to someone...I JUST DO IT. I'M the one making my connections..no one else has to do it for me. The changes that occured in my life throughout the period of mid 2005-beginning of 2006 are beginning to make perfect sense.
Why do all good things come to an end?
, Nelly Furtado asks on her new album...while this sounds pretty simple this is my answer:
To make room for new good, sometimes even better, things
(at least eventually...)
