I've neglected LJ a lot because of the popularity of that big bad MySpace thingy. I don't really blog much, so this will probably be short and kinda sweet.
Music: I'm listening to Muse a lot lately, probably because they have a new CD coming out next month and KWOD has been playing "Knights of Cydonia" a lot in the past couple of days. I also am listening to the new RHCP double album and I dusted off Depeche Mode's 101 for a little sentimental journey. As far as my own musical endeavors go, Radio Cure is pretty much toast -- I won't go into my opinions of former bandmates, but I will say I learned a lot about what to expect from some people. Most of the people who read my LJ also read Matt's, so I thought the coincidence that he announced the split and Kevin commented that KWOD is playing a second RC song on Sounds of Sac was awesome. I have about 900 CDs if anyone wants to buy one... I am currently putting together a new band with the fellas from Idiot Kid (Ryan -- from my days of Jett Rink in the bay area; and Matt -- pre-RadioCure Bellstar/The Said bandmate). We've had about 5 practices and stuff is coming along, I'll be sure to pass along the MySpace link for songs when we think of a new band name and record some stuff. I'm also about to write a bunch of new material, I think...
Movies: I liked X-Men 3: The Last Stand and The Da Vinci Code was alright. I've been mostly Netflixin' with my ladyfriend. Classics...like The Godfather (1 & 2), His Girl Friday, and The Goonies. Next movie I'm looking forward to seeing soon: umm....?
Books: I'm reading "Face Your Fear: Living with courage in a time of caution" by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach. After this, I'll be following it up with another book of his; "Kosher Sex". Not that I'm on a self-help kick, he just lays things out pretty well.
T.V.: We've been watching Season One of Scrubs now that our favorite shows are in the summer rerun slump. No Kings means basketball is over until next year. I couldn't care less if Miami or Dallas wins.
Marriage: We've set a date, Michelle and I are getting married on Oct. 14th this year. We've admittedly put a lot of pressure on ourselves to get everything organized in a relatively small amount of time, but we're just having an intimate ceremony and small reception with close friends and relatives. After that, the big goal will be financial security and maybe a house? I dunno...
Job: It pays the bills....
Cat: Lucy weighs 13 pounds now. Sheesh!
Gatorade: X-Factor Lemon-Lime+Strawberry, about half gone.
Ok, that's it for this month, I'm off to bed...
