vége a világnak!

this is the story of the collective's trek to baltimore for the sonic youth show & how i totally earned some major indie cred. fo serious.

it all began around two oh clock when ricky arrived at our house a bit early. so we cruised downtown to visit the tea shop. i found this musical whistling tube thing in the back of ricky's car & we spun it around as we strolled down the narrow brick streets. it sounded like a singing saw or an alien space ship landing. im sure the tourists appreciated the free concert.

back at the collective head quarters (aka our basement), we composed a civil war marching song with the banjo, acoustic bass,& the snare drum. we added some rusted circus instruments in just for kicks. then promptly at four thirty, jon bolted down stairs & pryed the instruments out of our hands cos HEAVEN FORBID WE DONT ARRIVE EXACTLY WHEN THE SHOW DOORS OPEN ALSJDF

so we ran out the door... but! not until after keenan had a snack, courtesy of our fridge.

after mab got us lost & we drove around in circles blaring some pimpin hip hop tunes (we're so ganstah), we finally made it to the metro where we met up with chaz. once we got to the 9:30 club, me& mab had to wait outside for our tickets. chaz, jon, & keenan went inside the club so that we could get a spot by the stage. while we were in line at the ticket booth, a large van pulled up in front of the club. & who else would step out of it but! THURSTON MOORE & KIM GORDON! me& mab& ricky were like "sup, yo"

just inside the club doors, the merch stand was selling sonic youth towels& frisbees so you can go to the beach SONIC YOUTH STYLE

jon was in music heaven:

"this is the best day of my LIFE"

"HE AINT GONNA EMAIL YOU NO MORE"

& there are actually pictures with *me* in them alsdkjfsldkj

be your own pet was on first & the lead singer totally looked& sounded like a 10 year old boy (yeah it was *definately* a girl though). sonic youth hit the stage around seven forty. they filled the club with flashing stage lights & distorted guitars & jon spotted the guitarist from pavement up in the balcony. the bassist from pavement was playing with them & chaz & keenan's look-a-like snatched his sweat towel (with pavement DNA on it... so we can clone them). chaz gave lee (sonic youth's guitarists) his card (for chaz's band?) & lee was all like "wtf, dude. people are handing us their cards now??"

the only one i took a clear picture of was lee since we were right in front of him:

he totally played the guitar with A DRUMSTICK & A BOW OMG

& we left the 9:30 club at NINE THIRTY! *GASP* it was magical

afterward we all went to denny's & pieces of the sacred pavement towel were distributed. we had milkshakes & pancakes& keenan ordered the lumberjack to help him grow facial hair.

the end.
