Me and Ralph have been back together for a while. I had been pretty resolute to say no if and when he asked. Then he came through with everything that was bothering me, we know exactly where things went wrong. To not have another go seemed a bit mean and futile. And things are great. I'm still treading cautiously but trying not to be too pessimistic lest I break everything. It was his birthday on Tuesday, and in all the confusion I didn't get him any pressies. I did, however, put my love into making shitloads of food including icing a cake which a crowd of us devoured before the Salutation open mic night. The night ended in Satan's with
tigertrap87 and M, which was free due to their contacts and his birthday. We all felt quite old in there, but they did occasionally let up in the Emo to play some tunes from my moshing days and some rock classics.
The occupation of Manchester University is still ongoing, day 12 I make it. They're being very nice and not getting in anyone's way, which is unfortunately most likely the reason the university is now largely ignoring them. But that's all very well and good for me to say from all the way over here in my bedroom. I don't really have the inclination to go back.
The aid convoy Viva Palestina had some members arrested under the terrorism act yesterday, and police were given six more days to hold them as of today. I obviously don't know the specifics of the cases and what the police's suspicions were based on, but I nevertheless find it very worrying. I'll be watching this one intently.
Now I need your help. I want to start a blog. I want people who I don't wish to read about my personal life to be subjected to my news critiques. My writing will mostly still be very POV and conversationally-toned, but this will encourage me to make them better, post more research, etc. It will also include original articles.I need a name. A few things floating round:
