Not that much to report this week. Got the day off for MLK day. I was at the book store and bought a graphic novel called "Pride of Baghdad." Its based on a true story of a pride of lions that escaped the Baghdad zoo when it got bombed in 2003. Its sort of a aligory for the nature of freedom, when the lions suddenly have freedom thrust upon them. Uncertain freedom vs. Secure slavery.

The other book is "Make Love The Bruce Campbell Way." I got it because I've read "If Chins Could Kill" and he's one of my favorite actors.

I got into a debate about religion on a forum. I try to think that all view points are valid and truth is subjective. I think we should respect the views of others, but some of the people blame religion for all the world's woes. They never considered racial, ethnic, economic and political reasons. They also said that the world would be better without them. But they never took into accout what to do with those who wish to hang on to them, wether they be Christian, Jew, Hindu, Taoist, Wicca, or other.

But like Uncle Stalin and Papa Adolf say, "If ya don't like 'em, throw 'em in a camp."

Their main whipping boy was Christianity. I explained to them that the problems with it is people make up for ignorance of a faith with pure fanaticism. True forms of Christianity and other religions teach tolerence and love. Its practicioners can't help if some bastards twist that faith for their own ends. It does not harm them if some people believe in some illogical ideas such as salvation, enlightenment and existance after death.

"But its not enough to be an atheist, you have to be a total dick to everyone who isn't."
-Trey Parker

Unlike them I try not to dwell on the negative, its much more zen that way. I wrote this long rant to work the rest of the poison out of my system.

I have had the oppritunity to meet people from all coners of the world, all faiths, languages and ideologies. What I've learned is that we are all human and we should not let anything obscure that fact.
