In my dream I am the girl with the Red Sox cap and faded yellow sneakers. I cling to my grandmother while walking across a crumbling wetland, it is about to sink. I cry so hard that I can't open my eyes to look directly at my grandmother. She is taller than I remember, and stronger, so that it is I who has to keep up with her, not her keeping up with me.
