Oh in any case imposing my view...
And i love that episode, but Sherlock is not a scientist is a Detective, but like eleven present him when he talked to John made me the impression of more a scientist, than simply a Genius.... Because off course he is a genius, but you can say the same about the doctor a mad genius, but his rol is patch up time and space and try very hard to eliminate evil civilizations from an not advanced planet like earth, so he finds where is the problem and fix it, trying to matain the balance, even if he did really bad things in the past he tries to do good and health to earth his second home.

The master, tries to have everything for himself, because he is superior, he is a genius too in his own right but he lost too much, he is alone and he doesn't care about other little civilization like the ones on earth, he could be their master and their god if he want to, but i think what he really wants is his childmate , his planet back, and that drums off his head, he felt betrayed and like humans seems important for the doctor he will play with them as their master.

So for me if this timelord wanted to learn and to investigate, experiment everything , his rol is more like the one of the scientist, he obviously a genius and he didn't want to lose his life of knowledge persut, for a stupid war, or politics, so obviously he will go where his last experiment is located and continue with it... As a human he became not a scientist, but a Detective, investigating alright but more motivated by hunting criminals and not only to try to understand them,
Like the doctor is a teacher trying to be as human as he can get how i think it was always a dream of him, he knows too much to be anyone, teacher is a really credible work for him, because really he don't know much about human medicine.

But as i said upthere this is only my opinion and i like to share it with you, but if you feel i'm intruding or something i won't say anymore, because i really love your fic!!

You make a really good point in your rant, about how all Time Lords are essentially geniuses. I think I'll still stick with my title for Time-Lord-Sherlock, in part just because I've already written too much of the fic to go back and change it. The other reason why I still like The Genius is that the title IS a repetition (even if Sherlock hates repetition!) of his Time Lord trait. The Genius wants to make sure everyone knows he is smarter than them--even if all Time Lords are clever, he insists upon being the most clever of them all. I imagine The Genius as very competitive as well as solitary. Unlike Sherlock, he grew up on a planet full of people who were just as quick-thinking as he was, remember. He had to fight to distinguish himself.

No, this is awesome! I love hearing people's thoughts, and knowing my fic inspires lengthy rants makes me feel a wee bit proud, I'll admit! So thank you for sharing your opinion. :D
