I've had a rather exciting summer.
I finally voyaged somewhere other than Canada. I went to Erfurt Germany a wonderfully historic little town on the east side of the Berlin wall. It is the capital of Thuringia. While there I saw churches and buildings built during the medievil times, as well as the renaissance. The architecture of each is easily distinguishable. I also visited a castle which is now an art museum in Weimar, a town east of Erfurt. I had an amazing time in Erfurt, seeing the town, going on a guided tour, and for those of you who are music buffs, Bach's parents were married in a church in Erfurt, Bach was actually born in Eisenach, which I had the pleasure of travelling through on the train. Eisenach also has a castle on a hill. I didn't get to see that one up close and personal.
While in Erfurt I stayed at the Radisson SAS hotel, a very modern hotel downtown, right next to the main mall called Anger 1, or Anger Einz as they say in german.

I've also been to Jasper twice, which I think I posted earlier, and am planning to do some camping on the September long weekend. I'm hoping for Banff but that's still up in the air.

School is just around the corner. I'm looking forward to heading back, but at the same time I can't wait to be finished and hold my degree in my hand. That's still a couple of years away, but all in due time.

Joel is also going to Afghanistan this fall. I'm not looking forward to this, but it's part of my life, and I've known since the day I met him that he would most likely end up there some day. So I'm going to try and take this in stride and surround myself with positive people and things.

My daughter is two now, and incredibly stubborn and independent. She's amazing in every way, even on the days where she tests my patience. I love her to bits.

Anyone else hooked on true blood?

All for now.
