last night Joel and I went to visit his uncle Gary who's in town to do some work at the Edmonton Location of his store "Great Hobbies" Which is a store for radio control heliocpters, planes boats cars etc. (if you're interested you can check out the website
http://www.greathobbies.com ) There are only two actual stores, one in PEI, and one in Edmonton, however anyone can order any of the products online or through a 1-800 number found on the website.
They have some really neat things there. It's interesting to see just how seriously some people take those hobbies. It's a really big investment, but you can get some quality products in the end. I also got to play with a flight simulator for the radio control devices (planes, and helocpters) which helps you to learn how to fly the radio controled planes and helicopters without crashing the real product. It was really cool. I also got to ride a Segway, for those of you that don't know what a segway is, here's a photo
I also got to see the GM of the company fly a radio controled Helicopter, man those things go! He almost crashed it, but saved it at the last minute... *phew* haha.
Anyhow, Uncle Gary gave us a tour of the store and explained to us the products that they carry, and then we just had a really nice conversation with him, about family, and opening businesses, and how we like alberta etc. It was really good to see him again. I hadn't seen him since the summer. We'll most likely be going to dinner with him on Saturday which will be nice. Overall a good night :)
That's all for now.
