today allison came over and straightened my getting longer all the time hair and we went to do perikura, which is taking tiny pictures of yourself and decorating them, then cutting them out and giving them to people. it was very fun. we ate oreos and watched aqua teen and played cards, too. and acted silly. i've been getting numerous ANGSTY LOVE EMAILS and they make me laugh really hard. but don't tell him i said that. seventeen year olds can be so ridiculous.
my japanese is getting really non-sucky, i have a week off from school in two days, i'm switching host families soon, going to kyoto soon, my dad might come visit me in the spring. my life is really nice and i feel more at home here than i did in the united states, i've learned to be happy for the sake of it being better than being sad for no reason. i learned a chinese poem the other day. i have a crush on an adorable boy in my class, i told the girls in my class i thought he was cute so maybe we'll go on a DATE soon. i think i've only been on one date-date in my life, and that was with ryan norman. which makes me really happy, in a funny way. and a good friend sent me immanuel kant's critique of pure reason, for which i am eternally indebted to her.
