no real differences make real differences

went I went on a tour of Medical Physics facilities last Monday at our local CancerCare Manitoba, I've discovered that research wise, the the basic work is no different from what I'm doing right now. The small difference however is that Med Phys makes a ton of money more than our area of research. What the difference is then? The difference is that Med Phys provides direct clinical applications and we do not. Same work, small application difference, and we are talking a couple of orders of magnitude difference of funding.

I guess people like to live forever. This arrogance is the piss in your soup if you are not within the hot area of research.
