OF MONTREAL - TEMPE

Peachcake, Of Montreal
JANUARY 24TH, 2007
THE CLUBHOUSE MUSIC VENUE
TEMPE, ARIZONA

This was another show that was on short notice. No ticket, just money. This time, we had another person accompany us, Lauren (aka Lar Lar or Lorax.) who is one of Allison's friends and kind of mine I suppose. More or less acquaintances.
We got there a little later, since this time Lorax was driving us. Which was fine, there wasn't that many people in front of us. We managed to sneak into the front with Andrew anyway.

----

They let us in shortly after we got there. Since I was the only one with no ticket ready though, I had to go into a separate line and pay.
When we got in, we went to the front of stage right. Where Bryan would be. Allison said mine and Lorax's spot while we went to go get merch. I got an Of Montreal bag and shirt. Lorax I think just got a shirt.

We went back and we traded off with Allison, when she came back the show was about to start.

Peachcake, oh dear. I don't care to know anything about this band really. They're a local band. They're electronic which is the only thing I really like about them. Their lyrics suck and I think they would be a -WHOLE- lot better if they were instrumental like Russian Circles.
The picture above, which I took only because the guy was using a keytar...right after I took that picture he hit on me the rest of the night. Trying to give me things from off of the stage and giving me and the group around us a whole pitcher of water (which, by the way was nasty tap). It was funny.
Thank god, Of Montreal came on fast.

Sometimes, Of Montreal can be kind of boring. Not live though. They have so much energy and fun when they perform.
The only bad thing was that there wasn't enough room to dance really, which is THE THING to do at Of Montreal shows. Kind of lame, but still enjoyable.
During, which song I forget Kevin came over to our side. I thought he was just going to kind of stand and dance and sing, but instead he dropped right in front of me and sang to me. He got closer and closer and all I could really do was put on the most goofiest face possible and sway. He then moved to the other side and when he did it again, people were grabbing at him and his ass and I felt like I did something wrong, but oh well.
When they were done with their main set and left before the encore, I managed to get Bryan's set list, which was pretty awesome. I'm starting to get good at this.

HIGHLIGHTS
- When the Peachcake guy started hitting on me and bring water out to us and tried to give me things.

- Kevin dropping down and singing to me.

AFTERWARD
On our way home, we took the long route and went over by the temple, and across the street to Pioneer park, which is the scariest place to be in the whole world at night. Lorax would drive really slow and roll down the windows and jesus, it was just scary.
