An overview of my summer:
Music has taken up the spotlight and most of my time. Between my band (a little self advertising here-
http://www.vermillionlies.com) and my own music (a little more-
http://www.laurenshera.com) I feel like I'm constantly strumming or singing or banging on pots with a lobster. Being in a band is great except:
-When one of the three girls in it is menstrual or grumpy.
-When the two sisters (Zoe and Kim) are fighting.
-When all three girls are grumpy as shit. This is deadly.
The boys just pretty much keep to themselves and probably have a whole inner-monologue going on about how silly we are. Most of the time though, the five (sometimes six depending on if our bass player shows up) of us jive pretty gloriously, like turkeys.
It feels SO good to be reading on a regular basis again! Shit! I cannot let myself get into one of those ruts where I have no time for books ever again. Fuck that. My latest endeavours: "Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince" and "The Amber Spyglass", plus reading Lemony Snickett's "The Wide Window" to Skyler, who is still awesome.
There's been an abundance of boyfriend this summer too. It's totally great to have Evan back for the summer and it's resulted in lots of movies, kisses, coffee, pie-making parties, and other things that cute couples have been known to do together. After a year and a half together, we still tend to act like that obnoxious new couple that can't get enough of one another. This makes me giggle, and dream about prospective living-together situations next year if I go to school in Santa Cruz. We'll see.
Besides all of this, my summer has been full of lots of normal summery things like friends and family and minimal clothing and night-swimming. It's treating me pretty well.
Outtie like a bellybutton,
L.
