South Korea and Togo was the first game yesterday. It was the first game since the world cup started that I didn’t watch. I’ve been home everyday since the world cup started at 3pm onwards either watching the games or eating and reading during the break in/between games. South Korea won 2-1. Not sure if it was an exciting game though since I didn’t really see it instead Roxanne and I decided to walk around after I did a quick 15 minute run. After that we went to the bakery to buy some bread. Quite exciting.
We came back just in time to watch France vs. Switzerland. Good game for the Swiss, their defense was strong. The tension between both teams was intense. Switzerland failed to kick out the ball when Thierry Henry was injured near their goal, they carried on while the fans were screaming with distaste. Unbelievable, then again I don’t think the French would’ve kicked it out for the Swiss… Although France didn’t score, I still enjoy watching some of them play especially Zidane. When Zidane plays you can see his experience, he has great field vision something you can tell is lacking from the less experienced teams.
I love watching the games when the fans are so into it. The way they whistle when the teams play by time and then suddenly scream with excitement when the ball is moving more on the offensive end. I can’t wait to watch England and Sweden. I’ve said that so many times cause it’s true. I honestly can’t wait to watch the game and be in the same atmosphere with thousands of fans screaming at one another. If the Swedish beat the English, it will be hell on the streets! English hooligans around will be quit scary but I’d love to see all the chaos.
The game after France and Switzerland, was Braaaziilll and Croatia. I never knew Croatia was that strong. They played really well!!! The only problem was that they couldn’t finish. Stenkd. It would’ve been exciting if Croatia scored a goal then maybe Brazil would’ve showed more of their fantastic offense. I love it when Brazil is setting up because so much could come out from it. Kaka’s goal was NICEEEEE, REALLY NICEE. Roberto Carlos made things look easy and I love how Ronaldinho is always smiling. Roberto played cruddy but I don’t really like him. Don’t hold it against me but he isn’t such a fantastic forward like many people think…Aside from the game, the fans in the game were probably one of the best group of fans to watch!! They had flare sticks around and best of all.. That guy that interrupted the game!!! THAT WAS THE FUNNIEST THING EVER! There were so many guards around the stadium that it was unexpected to see a player on the field!! I was shocked by the whole thing, I first saw the similar clown jersey thinking it was a player but the red and white face totally threw me off! He got on the field kissed the Croatian players shoe while the player slowly dragged him off the field with a security guard behind his back. Priceless! Those of you who haven’t seen the game, have to see that replay…
Today, Germany and Poland are playing. I can’t wait! It’s time to put on my German jersey and cheer them on. This game, is VERY IMPORTANT FOR GERMANY. If they lose it could risk their chances to move on. There are going to be so many German and Polish hooligans around that the German and Polish police are getting together to control them. I can’t wait. ALL OF YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT. I’m sure it’ll be EXCITNG!
Anyways, I have to go now. I want to see Spain play later on they could surprise a lot of people and make it past the round 16. You never know.
Ich habe auch das Fussballfieber!
