Here it is, for your Xanga enjoyment: the review of the benefit on Saturday! Sorry it's been a late update, but I had no time.
Saturday... woke up bright and early to go wash cars at Hagenbuch's for Jamie.. raised $216 in 3 hours!!!! We washed this huge RV thing too, and that took awhile. If they would've gave us much less than the $40 they gave, I would've been pissed lol. Those things are tough to wash/dry. After we got done that, I went home and e-mailed High Pressure about soundcheck.
I showed up at the Storm Cellar at 4:00, Zach was getting his senior pics taken, so I watched that until it was time to get stuff done. Beeler and the other guitarist for Exit 42 came in, and the 4 of us soundchecked a bit until 409 in Your Coffee (Britt, Willy.. feat. Shane) arrived. Phase came, then (THANK GOD) High Pressure showed up. Everyone was on time, and that rarely happens. I was lucky. Anyways, Phase went on for check at like... 6, and were on a little before 7. The crowd started rolling in at about 7:45. Phase was .. amazing. I mean, for only rehearsing for like 2 weeks, they were as good as a band who has been together for 20 years.
409 went on next after HP set up their gear. Britt's version of "Lunch Lady Land" was hilarious! Shane sang "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Mama I'm Coming Home". His voice blows me away. It's deep, but capable of carrying a lead part. During their set, me, Scully, Maggie, and Frankie played doubles pool. That was ... interesting. But I'm sure I got a lot of weird looks when I whooped REALLY LOUDLY after making a shot.. right after the end of a song. *oops* I also totally serrrrrved Frances in foosball, 4-10! Yeehaw. Okay, so after 409 was High Pressure. Frankie, Scully, and I danced the whole time they played. Scully's in love with Dave, the dark haired, side burn-adorned, kinda emo guitar player. He's cute... but 20. Whatever, 'age ain't nothin but a number'. (that was so cliche.) Anywho.... after them was Exit 42's hour and a half set. Yeah, the whole thing lasted til 12:30. And Frankie and I danced THE WHOLE TIME. And it was great! I missed her so much, and it was so fun. I really missed all the girls in one place, and this was the perfect opportunity.
Well, band camp starts tomorrow, 9:15 exactly. I have to carry my bari (now named Big Mamma Tone) all day tomorrow. My arms are going to a) break, b) fall off, or c) both. I'm too much of a puss for my instrument. But I'm the only drill position that is just a letter (Flutes are like F1, F2, so on.. I'm just B) ... I'm an original!
Seriously I need to go sleep now. Word.
