The Big V'Day Sketch Catch Extravaganzapalooza '09

Feb 01, 2009 00:33

Oh, man! You guys! YOU GUYS! It's THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN!
That's right, kiddos...the groundhogs are poppin', the crocuses are croakin', the Luperci Quintilii and Luperci Fabii are rounding up goats, and everywhere is beautiful, beautiful cadmium red and tints thereof...And that means it's time for...

The Big V'Day Sketch Catch Extravaganzapalooza '09!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaay! Here's a reminder of how it works:
From 12:00am February 1st until 12:00am February 15th the sketch catch shall be open. During this time, just leave a comment here, on the Dead Squirrel forum, or here on this LiveJournal...journal, or on my corresponding journals on Sheezy Art or DeviantArt telling me what you'd like me to draw a sketch of! (No requests by email or any other venue, because I will lose it. ^__~ )

* You will receive one sketch, absolutely free, as a 300dpi (print quality) .jpg file
* If you got a sketch last year, you can still have one again this year! Yes, really!
* You don't need to be a regular watcher of my work. You just need to show up at the right place and time.
* You need to tell me what you want a sketch of from the get-go. No placeholders. You have fifteen days to think of what you want...and you'll still get a sketch within that time, so go ahead and think it over. And please don't ask me to surprise you.
* When you make your request, please include a link to a reference picture of what I'm drawing...whether that be a photo of a person, or a drawing of your original character, or a picture of your favorite cartoon character, or whatever. Don't assume that I know what it is when you tell me. It also helps a lot if you can give me a written description of whatever-it-is. For people and characters, that includes personality. You get your sketch faster if I don't have to do a lot of research.
* Do not comment here telling me that you don't want anything 'cause I'm doing so many and you think this is a way to be nice to me. I wouldn't do this sketch catch every year if I didn't love it. When you tell me that you don't want one of my sketches, this insults me. If you comment here, you will get a drawing whether you like it or not.
* Yes, it's okay to ask for a drawing of more than one person. I'll draw up to as much as I can fit onto a 9x12 inch piece of paper.
* Only one sketch per person. You can't ask for one for yourself and one for your kid brother. If your kid brother wants a sketch, he'll need to be the one to ask.
* No, it won't be colored. If you want your sketch inked and colored after I'm done with all the sketches, that's groovy. The price will depend on what medium you want. Here are my usual commission rates. Use the 8x11 price for the medium you want, and divide by half. That will be the price of an upgrade.
* Yes, you can have the original sketch, if you send me $5 US for shipping.
* No, you don't get the copyright. This means that you can't make any copies of the drawing, in any way, for any reason, without permission.
* Sketches will be drawn in order of when they are requested. The list and the finished sketches will be posted here, in this thread, so you can always check on how close we're getting to yours.
* I'll draw anything that isn't illegal or offensive. Cheesecake is fine, tasteful nudity is fine, pornography is not. And nothin' hateful, y'all. V'day is about love...so how 'bout asking for something that you really like, instead? I reserve the right to refuse any request that violates my limits of good taste. <3
* All I ask in return is that you do not bemoan my favorite holiday. Instead of griping that you don't have a significant other to share the day with (If it makes you feel better, I'll be spending it by myself, too.) why not spend the day showing the people in your life that you love them? It'll make you feel better than that tub of ice cream and stack of rented romantic comedies. None of that "black hearts day" garbage, okay? =)

Okay, kids. You've got until the festival of Lupercalia (which is also my birthday) to make your request...So let's rock n' roll!

valentine's day, sketch catch
