when i was moving my car from c zone last night, i drove to georgia instead of just parking my car at comer.
i dont really know why i did...i just kept driving.
it felt good getting out of auburn for a little bit.
i left my phone in my room, i put on the flaming lips really loud, smoked a few cigarettes, watched the sunset, and felt at peace.
on the way back i was listening to "do you realize", and the part that goes like:
Let them know you realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
the lyrics combined with the perfect music, just made me all of the sudden form the hugest shit eating grin on my face. i loved it.
anyway, ive been hanging out with my brother and his friends a lot lately. theyre good people. totally accepting, and totally fun. i always have a good time, and theyre not like some groups of people who think theyre too good for anyone else. its refreshing. im glad that my bother and i are getting along really well now. hes actually a really cool guy when we're not living together. ive learned so much more about him in the past month than i have in the past 10 years.
i also called my grandmother today to say hello. i love calling her cause shes always so excited to talk to me. her and i are alike in so many ways... i always have a good time talking with her. she tells me all about the dogs, my uncles undertaker news, and the past.
we always end up talking about the past and about my grandfather, and today i found out that he invented some major paper mill technology process that is used around the world. i wish i could describe it, or at least know the name, but i forgot. its a pity. for those of you who dont know, my grandfather died when my mom was 18, so obviously, i never met him. and what i do know of him, i learn from my grandmother.
he had went to auburn too, and absolutely loved it. my grandmother always tells me how proud he would have been of stephen and me... and how proud we make her feel. i dont know why im telling you guys this... but i guess i just now finally realized what family means.
my mom and i are getting along so much better now. i had actually called her last night, and we actually talked. not just exchanged pleasantries and tlaked about school, but we talked. i told her about things going on here, and she actually listened and gave me advice. i think that was possibly the most heartfelt mother-daughter bonding conversation ive ever had. it made me feel so good to know that i can openly talk with her now, and after all the shit we would through out at each other...we're still family, and she will alwaysalwaysalways be there for me. im sure if she wasnt my mom, and i wasnt her daughter, we wouldnt have ever talked again after most of our fights...we were brutal to oneanother.
again, sorry for the hallmark-esque lj entry, but i was honestly intending on writing some sad bastard bullshit, but i realized that my "problems" are miniscule and are really not worth all the time and anxiety im spending on them.
and on that note, goodnight.

someone took my college democrat sticker off of my board. the bastards!##$$@!@!##!$
