i can tell the world!
Its been a pretty good week I guess, but this weekend was GREAT.
Wingate University Middle School Choral Celebration = FUN.
We had one school come visit us during choir at 12:00, and then the rest arrived by rehearsal at 4:30. AND I got to see TOM TUCKER SHELTON!!!!! Who I love. He taught me in fifth grade and told me to go to Wingate... Big surprise, he was right. =]
BTW = I did part of my piano proficiency yesterday and it was great, I think.
That's what you have to pass to graduate as a BME.
1) major & minor scales 2) open score 3) melody harmonization 4) memorized piece
I did major scales, open score, and melody harmonization. SO, yay. =]
Anyways, we all ate dinner in the caf, with the 120 middle schoolers. and then got to buddy up and sing with them for the evening rehearsal. After the evening rehearsals David, Leslie, Kristy and I came upstairs and watched Blades of Glory for a while, then Anna joined us and we watched some more, but pretty much ended up just talking about all kinds of stuff. It was great fun, I love having those deep-ish conversations with people.
Then today I helped Sarah Lev with hospitality in the morning and we had a wonderful time, learning things from experienced teachers. =D and then I played pitches for the second half of morning rehearsal. I ate brunch with David, RayJay, and Dr. Potter!!! We cleared up the hospitality room after lunch and then had our concert.
All in all a fabulous two days.
Tomorrow will probably be a homework day, but other than that I don't know.
Choir tour starts in ONE week. =] I'm terribly excited about it, should be loads of fun. AND I get to room with the loverly Sarah Lev, who I will also be rooming with in KY for ACDA Convention. Hooray.
