The stuff with making fake rock is, I want to make a cat litter cover, that looks like a rock, that also is somewhat sturdy, so I could build a pit into it to put dirt and plant some plants that don't need a lot of light, like moss, or african violets. or ferns. I don't actually want to make lizard habitats.

Since we're moving I will also have a lot of cardboard.

If I do any of these more intensive projects, investing in a plastic tarp may be a gouda idea.
