I found this vintage Czech oil lantern circa 1940s while antique shopping today with my mom for her birthday. I've been looking at it all evening and obsessing about where it has been.
Who has held its handle and what purposes did it serve? Was it used primarily indoors, outdoors or both? Has it been preserved and the glass is still looking clear because it wasn't used? I love items that carry a piece of history and curiosity with them. Unfortunately, Eric does not care for our lack of space for them and the addition of clutter. The significance of the item trumped the clutter argument... for now.
