Did you know trucks can pee?

Neither did I until today. We spent the afternoon at home AND indoors due to the downpour outside. Finn was wanting non-stop stimulation. Here is a list of some of the more odd things I came up with to keep him entertained.

1. Making Batter Blaster "Ice-ah" Pancakes (Mickey Mouse pancakes that look like the sloth from Ice Age) Then he wouldn't eat the pancakes in my presence, so he made me leave and then screamed after two bites because I had left. It was that kind of a day.
2. We cooked an egg; we made muffins. He did well! I left him in charge of mixing and Eric got a big hunk of salt in his bite of muffin. Oops. :)
3. Came up with the flying/flipping trains on mama's legs while she lays upside down. Sorta like airplane meets Thomas the Train. I was desperate.
4. "Look out ducky!" When in doubt, cause "crashes". Trains into wind-up ducks. Stuffed frogs into bridges. It's all entertaining. Just repeat 1,000 times for full enjoyment.
5. Put Finn in the bath with his truck and bus and had a conversation about how they can pee (includes demonstration by Finn).

I'm listening to the Happiest Toddler on the Block on CD. I've never tried a book on CD, let alone while Finn is with me. I had to turn it up rather loud to be able to hear every third sentence over Finn's playing/talking (have I mentioned he's loud? :) Anyhoo, it seems like a decent book with a fairly straight forward message about the development of the toddler's brain and reasonable expectations. I'm looking forward to the "advise" in part two to hear if there are new ways of parenting I haven't thought of. Also, I can't hear enough that what I'm experiencing is normal. I love Finn, but when he's so think skinned and we've read the Thomas the Train product flyer fifty times then I start to feel a little insane and wonder, "I love him so much, so why do I want to run away screaming? Maybe I'm not doing something right."

Then Eric walks through the door. Finn goes to bed and... it was a good day.
