I took Finn here today:
http://www.imaginecm.org/page.php?id=48 The link goes to a virtual tour. I was very impressed. Finn loved the plane with the realistic interior, the train table and the enclosed electric train set with peak-a-boo spots to see the train passing through the tunnel. He loved the ferry and the water guns that played chimes. We stayed for two hours. I was going to try and bring my 3 year old nephew, but I was glad that I hadn't once I saw how crowded it was with field trips.
We had an impromptu play date with Bloomingcedars. We walked to her house and her and her daughter walked us back home later. I feel like I'm becoming an aunt again when her baby is born this early July. I love (both) of her daughters so much already.
We had a good conversation about patience and toddlers. Interesting the dance those two do with each other. It's new landscape every few months. We shared some funny moments we experience and some shrugging of shoulders. Sometimes it's good to know that your emotional reaction is shared by someone you respect. I'm not the only one who covers her face and sighs heavy or goes blank when every clue of how to cope has vanished. The kids had a ball. It's impossible to pry those two apart.
It was a good mellow day.
