[Twenty-Six] - The Bittersweet Between My Teeth

Jul 13, 2011 21:59

I was a terrorist.

I helped kill dozens of innocent people and probably hundreds of others in order to free Japan from the oppression of the Britannian Empire. I'd do it again, too. I don't regret it, because I did it for the country, family and friends that I loved.

That's all I have to say.

...Britannian Empire?

[ he heard that name before, but more importantly- ] Kouzuki-san... I think that you did what was necessary. I had stained my hands with blood more than once in the past, myself. And unlike me, you didn't do it for anything else but for a good reason. That is all.

…I know. Thank you.

I'll always be ready to fight for Japan. I swear. Until I'm too hurt or too old to be useful at all. And even then, someone will still have to stop me.

Said like a truly loyal solider. Kouzuki-san reminds me of my own... no, she really is one of them, in that sense. It's always nice to meet someone like that, even in here.

Right.

Long live Japan. You, and every version of variation we might come across here.

Ah, one more thing, Kallen-san... this might be a strange question, but are you familiar with someone names Euphemia Li Britannia? Several months ago- that person mentioned this "Britannian Empire" as well, so I am curious.

Yeah. I knew her.

She was Britannian royalty, so I only met her in person by chance back home. That's kind of a long story, but she was sub-viceroy of Area 11--the name the Britannians gave conquered Japan. We all called her the puppet princess, because she wasn't much more than a figurehead. But she earned herself another name.

Princess Massacre. She lured thousands of Japanese into a trap, offering them somewhere where they could call themselves true citizens of Japan, then butchered them completely out of the blue. I used to hate her more than almost anyone in the world.

But to be honest, when I met her here, and talked to her… it seemed wrong. She didn't seem capable of being Princess Massacre. I didn't know what to think.
