[Ichabod hangs up the phone and gathers roses from his garden. He feels partially responsible that he couldn't help her any more but thankful that she's alright. He doesn't bother to drive. He walks, mostly to clear his head from the time he was in Russia. He hated every moment of being in that place. It was at least some comfort being in Mayfield even if it was a transient one.

He approaches Kallen's door and knocks firmly, with the flowers in hand.]

[She answers, and grins when she sees him.]

Ichabod.

[Yeah, she's giving you a hug.]

[passes_out]

[The hug surprised him but returns the embrace with a smile.]

Kallen. I am glad you are better. I was so worried. I brought you roses from my garden. I grew them myself.

[He smiles warmly.]

[radiant_will]

[She releases him and steps back.]

I'm glad I'm better, too. And you even brought me roses? Thanks, Ichabod. I guess botany is just another one of your skills.

[passes_out]

[He gives a smile and a nod.]

'Tis a hobby. A recent one, in fact. I have learned back home that some plants have medicinal qualities that none other possess and now I grow those very plants in my garden. I happen to like roses since they are the most resilient of flora and often have a warmth to them that I find endearing.

[Of course there had to be a practical reason.]

[She takes the roses, giving them a sniff.]

They look and smell nice, too. I think that's enough reason to grow them.

[Now she sounds more serious.]

So, Ichabod. You weren't hurt or threatened by the Soviets, were you?

[passes_out]

[He smiles softly at Kallen's approval of his gift and then regards her statement.]

No. In most cases, I keep to myself until I find an opening. I was kept too busy to cause any serious harm....to the social order, should I say.

[radiant_will]

That's good. I'm just glad you stayed out of trouble.

[passes_out]

[He lowers his head slightly and nods.]

Yes. I had to, for the sake of my sons....

[He's still not find of his drone!wife which now he ignores completely.]

[radiant_will]

Yeah. You're more responsible than me, that's for sure.

[passes_out]

The good news is that we are out of that place now and freer than we were once before. I had not thought that there was anyplace worse than Mayfield. I was certainly proven wrong.

True. Still, I won't be satisfied until I've escaped from this place, too.

[passes_out]

[He smiles, thankful that her fire was still burning bright.]

Have you kept the note I gave you?

[radiant_will]

…Yeah. Even if I lose it at some point, I won't forget what you wrote.

[passes_out]

[He smiles warmly and nods his head.]

'Tis the truth and sometimes we need to be reminded. Despite all odds, I admire your bravery and I can never forget.
