[Fifth] - All I'm Thinking Of

I have a question.

During those two days when the phones wouldn't stop ringing, and got we got calls from people outside of Mayfield, did any of you… talk to someone who's dead?

dammit lelouch, public inquiry, mindbreaking

I have not.

[The people from his time wouldn't know how to use one anyway.]

…You're probably lucky.

Perhaps.

[His voice sounds more disillusioned than upset.]

Ever since my arrival, I have become heartsick. The nightmares I once had are filled with other thoughts that I cannot stop.

Other thoughts? Can I ask what they're about?

Mostly about how to keep us from being wiped of being subjugated by those that intend to oppress us. I would like to speak with the mayor directly though every attempt I had tried proved ineffective. I'm not able to do much here and it pains me. I'm sure it bothers you too.

It does bother me, more than anything. I hate waiting around and only hoping something will change, but I don't know what else to do.

I've done all I can though I fear that this waiting is only to break our spirits.

[He thought for a moment and sighed.]

Complacency only lends us to believe that we are stuck in the mud with no means of salvation. I've enabled only one and no others came forward.

Well, it's frustrating, but there's no way I going to give up. I've been in way worse situations than this before, and if I have to wait, I'll wait. That might just be all it takes.

See, a few days ago I ran into this girl who received what was basically a high-powered, advanced kind of weapon. They're called mechs, and one person can operate them from the inside. I used to pilot one back in my world, and if this girl got hers back, there's a chance I might eventually get mine. I'm not sure how much help it'll be, but if we ever need some serious firepower, we'd be completely covered.

You mean to say that we can regain what was taken from us? How does one do that without reverting to stealing?

I don't think this girl mentioned anything specific. She'd just been here awhile, and then the thing appeared by her mailbox.

I see. I'm having trouble believing that something so large would just appear in the mailbox. I suppose I'll have to see this for myself in order to believe this. How long was she here when she received it?

Well, it wasn't in the box. It was mostly next to it.

Also, I never asked how long she's been here.

Ah. That would stand the reason why some have received items and others have not. Though I would like to know how long since then I could gauge time versus activity. No matter, it may prove inconsequential.

I think it'd be good know. It wouldn't take much effort to ask around and see who's gotten items back, how long they've been here, and what they know about the process.

Ah thank you. I shall ask around. Perhaps this should give me insight to what happens here.

Hopefully. It'd be good to figure at least something out.
