It was the late hours of the evening, and Seto was wandering as he tended to do. In fact, he usually spent more time wandering than he did actually where he was supposed to be. If Eris needed him, she could find him. Of that he had no doubt, and he really did not worry over her very much anyways. He was done with that, of worrying for others anyways. It never got one very far at all. If one could not look out for themselves, then what good were they to the world anyways? Even the greatest scholars, the best of friends, could not serve this world dead.

Well, they did serve the world, but it was in a body of darkness, the hearts stolen away. But in that respect, they did not have to deal with the pain... and in that respect he almost envied them. They did not remember the dying screams, the blood, the bodies strewn about before shadows consumed them... they remembered none of it.

He did... but in the end, it was alright. He would use those memories to become stronger, and next time he would not let his heart be torn again. In the end, it was ones claws and teeth that won battles after all. Sitting upon his haunches, he glanced towards his own tail. Since the incident, in the days after, his fur had darkened to a dusky coal, his tail an eerie blue. It was alright though, these shadows. Let them remain upon his outside, surround him. The bitterness, anger, regret... they were all his emotions. As Eris had reminded him, one should never deny their own emotions. Be they primal, be they dark, or otherwise. They were a part of him... and to be embraced. There was a release in that...

He smiled with these thoughts, as he watched the sun start to rise. It looked the same as it had back home as well. But it was different as well, as he was. The same, but different. 'I wonder, what shall the days ahead bring...' he thought to himself, as he idly continued to watch.
