Somebody got busy with my credit card overnight. :( I still have the card, so they must have gotten the number online. I've gotten four phone calls from car insurance and auto loan salesman, and I have an email inbox full of receipts for stuff I never ordered. I've already talked to the credit card company to replace the card and placed fraud alerts with all three credit report companies.
The really bizarre thing is that this was all done using MY mailing address and email address. The email receipts are for lots of little charges, $5 and $7, from companies selling acai berries and colon cleansers and stuff like that, and with the product being sent to my address! How exactly does the thief benefit from ME receiving boxes full of acai berries? For that matter, why use my own phone number and email address, which just meant that I was immediately alerted to all this activity? I am very puzzled.
So I get to spend the morning dealing with this shit instead of getting actual work done.
