I'm kinda in between mike and other thing. In my opinion, the entire political system is entirely depressing, because even if kerry and edwards were so liberal, they don't let it show. What almost every politician does is stick themselves into some kind of grey area, because they're scared of losing voters.

Just for a few examples, while one might assume that kerry is pro choice pro gay marriage, he has actually said that he's "against gay marriages from a traditional standpoint, but supports civil unions" and "personally is against abortion - birthcontrol, but supports a women's right to choose". All these guys try to do is suck both sides in. the more votes the better, they want to be in office.

Bush does the same thing, however, also, the republicans actually have a more challenging strategy more often. They try to assume the issues people will divide on, and use them to get the percentage needed to get in office. Still bush has said he "has supported stem stell research, but wants to promote a culture of life in america" (yes he used that phrase, watch his larry king interview)

But I think that all of these opinions are just about votes. Kerry's war record, his claims of being good with defense, along with bush's own claims on national security, and his 'values' etc etc, on both sides is a nothing. I think on any standpoint, it's almost impossible to justify support of either party. Then again nader pisses me off more than kerry or bush now. If anything vote on economic reasons. Cut the white house off from it's corporate ties and corrupt board, or at least get rid of cheney.
