Typhoon Morakot

Aug 11, 2009 08:13

I really like following this photo blog because it shows things from all over the world, not just here in America.  It doesn't just show tragedies, like this one today, but celebrations and holidays that I've never heard of, from people that I know little about, and it also has things of nature from time to time.  I also like it because with a photo, unlike a video, you can really study the details.

Anyway, the blog today covered the recent typhoon in Asia and the pictures covered both the small, intimate human moments as well as the large, horrific destruction that the typhoon caused.  I've just posted a few pictures here, but if you want to see the rest of the 30 some pictures you can find the rest of them at the Big Picture website.

I love the eye contact here between the baby and the rescuer...

Some of these really make me wonder how the these people got where they are... like the man on the pole.  Did he just wait too long and get stuck?  What about the man on the roof?  Where are the little girls going?  Where have they been?  Also, did they all make it too safety? :)  I hope so...
