I've been meaning to post something for quite some time, but, oh, I don't know, I've been sort of down. Which is strange considering I'm off work for the summer and I went on a wonderful Alaskan cruise (I will post pics in a few days), but, still I've been down for whatever reason. I haven't written much which is also strange for me because sometimes when I'm feeling low I can escape into my writing. *shrug* Anyway, the last few days I've been feeling better - maybe I've just been decompressing after a long, rough school year and surgery - and I've actually felt the urge to write again. I've missed it.
Today, I found a wonderful new place to do my writing... out on my
patio. That's not a very good picture because it was taken last summer when it was being painted, but you get the idea! Here is some of the
view. I bought a laptop this spring so that I could be mobile and yet I haven't taken advantage of it like I should. Today it was a delightfully cool morning - only in the 70s and so I sat out here and actually wrote for hours on this story I've been working on - off and on! - for months. I'm still out here as I type this... someone has wireless and I'm picking it up! I want to switch to wireless, but haven't done so yet.
Anyway, besides the fanfic I've been working on today, I wrote this little poem. It's a first for me and it really did happen! :)
Soap Bubbles
Soap bubbles wandered through my backyard today.
One floated lazily through the air and disappeared out of sight behind a tree.
Two more came by for a longer stay. One settling in the grass and the other landing in my tree.
Where do they come from these perfect shimmery balls that bring me such delight?
Ah, I spy a large flock of them escaping from the neighbor’s yard.
The grandchildren are visiting.
