Hello!

Apr 15, 2008 11:51

Just a quick note to let everyone know that my knee surgery last Wednesday went well.  They went in and shaved off the edges of the menicus that had torn.  The doctor found the damage from my rheumatoid arthritis wasn't as bad as he'd thought but he smoothed out those areas as well.

Today is the first day I've been able to get back here to my ( Read more... )

I'm so glad to hear things went well -- what a blessing it is to learn that things aren't as bad as the doctor thought! I'm glad, too, to hear you are coping, even if it involves much hopping. ;-) Hopping about is hard in any case, but I'm sure the surgery itself had its own toll to take. Make sure you take it easy and yes, no falling allowed!

Things are still going pretty well for me, each day I'm feeling better. I saw the doctor on Wednesday... well, he poked his head in the room, glanced at my knee to see that the stitches were looking okay and told me to come back in a week! I can now put a little weight on it, but I have to be careful not to overdo it so that it doesn't swell. I have to keep my knee elevated and iced and yet use it too. My mom came home from Vietnam - she does missionary stuff there - and so it's been a blessing to have her help now.

I remember when I broke my toe, how exhausting it was to get around - you have my sympathies. Glad to hear from you, though, to know you're okay.

It is amazing how tired you get from something like this! It is amazing how tired you get from something like this! Things are still going pretty well for me, each day I'm feeling better. You must be really close to the end of school now, so I'll bet you're excited for that! What are you doing this summer?

Um, more school work actually! At least for the first part. I'll be done with actually writing my thesis (I hope) but will still have to tie up loose ends on that and do the class term paper that a prof is letting me do once I'm through with the thesis. And I'll have a week or two of Latin to get through as well. (I'm doing an independent study, and have gotten a bit behind.) So yeah, it never really ends.

I *might* be going to Germany for a few weeks. That was considered a definite thing back when I thought I would be going to U.K. (whose schools start later), but as it is I'm not sure.

I knew the surgery would go well. And I'm glad the arthritis wasn't as bad as the doctor expected.

From now you things will get better, you'll see. I'm betting the worst part is over. And you're lucky in your friends.

I'm really glad your mom is there with you. This should make your recovery faster and much more pleasant.

Oh, thank you for checking in! I was beginning to worry. I'm glad it went well and you're recovering, and particularly glad that Runnerbeast is taking care of you. Glad the RA damage wasn't as bad as it might have been.

I hope you continue to progress and improve and are up in no time.

I was glad to be able to get back here to get online finally and now I am back to reply... I really do need wireless! :) At one point Runnerbeast and I talked about her posting something for me and then it slipped our minds.
