grade update: i've emailed ms. walen to ask for her objective opinion on what i should do and for clarification of the grading process. i really think i did A work on macbeth, and i deserve that grade.
i talked to ryan walter about it, and he made a good point: no matter how hard i worked, my part was small, and if you have a small part they just give you a B+ as a knee-jerk reaction. it's not my fault i had a smaller role. i proposed for lady macbeth, and chris chose to give me lenox/hecate. and when i had an issue with that, i talked to neil privately and didn't bring those concerns to rehearsal. i thought i did everything the way i was supposed to...so we'll see what happens. hopefully i won't have to contest my grade, but i'll do it if i have to.
ryan also pointed out that as much as they claim they're fair, it has been my turn for a larger role for a while now, and i still haven't gotten it. if i don't get what i think i deserve next semester, then i'm not doing department. i've already chose a play i want to direct just in case. so we'll see what happens.
