Overheard in the office: "Every time I hear that phone, it's ringing!"

There are five women in my shop, two military, two ex military and one other civie.

And I've only worn my wallet on my head twice since I arrived here. Otherwise, it's those french pizza hat things.

Never did. Beret, wedge, and in the beginning, one of those horrible flattop things.

You must have joined around 1985 ish?

I was issued with so much useless stuff, including this Gomer Pyle green baseball hat with fur flaps to cover the ears. Sadly, I was never issued with pumps, a maternity jumper or a mess dress skirt.

It would be worth becoming a reservist for the PVC purse though...

I know all about useless stuff. I have three complete sets of the new Gore-Tex winter gear...two army and one air force...that will likely never see use, except for one of the jackets. At one point, they were supposed to issue all us air force people with the same stuff the flight line techs use, a sort of blue coverall that looks not unlike a flight suit. Cool stuff. Sadly, it never happened, and now we're all in fucking CADPAT instead. Just as I've always said...army plus air force will always equal army. Air types never get any respect...first our ranks, then our uniforms.
