Gotta say, this hasn't been a bad weekend. Started out with testing at the dojo on Sat. morning. Everybody did well. Jen and Shar were really quite good. Shar had looked ok in practice, though a little sloppy or unclear. That completely disappeared on her test - she was the picture of clarity. Both did well. I was proud of them.
We all went out to lunch afterwards. WW and SM ended up sitting right next to me. Not exactly completely comfortable. WW would occasionally make some small talk. I avoided being rude and responded when it was directed at me, but didn't engage in real conversation. While they believe I acted unethically, I will continue to avoid any, but required, conversation. I think WW wants to at least resume talking, but doesn't know exactly how to come out and say that what she said was in anger and not something she believes. I don't think SM will ever make the first move. He's fairly buttheaded. He can be cruel as well.
Shirl was home when I got back. She had been going to a wedding, but wasn't feeling well. She's had some strange symptoms, but the more I see of them, the more I'm convinced she's likely got diverticulitus. Getting her to go to the doctor is difficult. Ahh, the buttheaded people in my life. Not that I would ever be buttheaded, ROFL.
Made good progress cleaning out the garage. Got some stuff thrown out, other stuff moved to the basement. Shirl and I went to Walmart and Home Depot. I picked up some stuff for the things I'm gonna do to the garage. I cut all the pieces to the work table by nightfall. Shirl and I watched Batman Begins. She'd never seen it. I had gone to see it with SM and WW some months back.
Sunday, Chris wasn't feeling well, so we didn't go workout. He's been under the weather. I put the worktable together.
We went to my grandniece's baptism, then out to eat. It was close to six by the time we got back. I put together the Drill press and finished cutting the pieces for the Zabuton seat. I assembled the base by the time I had to come up to meditate.
Finances still have me worried. Our daughter's tuition has been a killer. With financial aid and help from the family we only pay 1/8th of it, but it's still running through our savings at an alarming rate. Then, if Roshi say's I will be ordained in the fall, there are the priest clothes to buy. They say those run a few thousand dollars. Christ, but it's always something!
Jen and Shar will be working out tomorrow evening. I am quite glad to not be getting up at 5:30 tomorrow morning. Jeez that's not fun.
Still puzzling over my math problem.
