Writer's Block: Time Travel
If you could travel back in time to spend a day with someone, who would it be and why?
I just discovered this 'writer's block' thing and this particular topic made me think a bit. I would travel back to the time when me and my sister were good friends. I miss her every day like crazy. I don't even know who she is anymore...what does she do? What doe she like? What happened that made her stop talking to me entirely? Her birthday is next month and I've found myself thinking about her more and more. I want to see her and celebrate the day but I havent been able to get her to even return my calls months ago and I guess I just kind of gave up.
Her and I are a lot alike, as much as we are different. We're the same in the way that neither of us are 'conventional' women. We never have been. But something happened and suddenly I was a social fairy and she was holed up at home. I was out doing what kids do to learn life's lessons and she was playing it safe. I was loud and bright and pushing the envelope and she was just wasnt.
I wish I could be with her, even for one day. Show her what my life is like now. I want her to meet my fiance and my kitten and visit my favorite places in this amazing city. I want to make her laugh and tell her it's okay to be afraid of the past, as long as it doesnt rule your life. I want to hug her and hold her hand and buy her pretty things. I want to tell her I love her and tell everyone I love her and have her know it without question. I just want her to know who I am entirely again, and I want to know the same about her.
