Charlton Heston, R.I.P.

Film legend Charlton Heston is dead at 84. The Reuters notice can be found here. What can I say about an actor of Heston's caliber? Perhaps my favorite of all his roles was that of Cardinal Richelieu in Richard Lester's immortal The Three Musketeers and The Four Musketeers. He was of course also remarkable as Marc Antony in Julius Caesar and Antony and Cleopatra, Michelangelo in The Agony and the Ecstasy, Moses in Cecil B. DeMille's epic The Ten Commandments and the title characters in El Cid and Ben-Hur (for which he won an Academy Award). Science-fiction fans will remember him for Planet of the Apes and Beneath the Planet of the Apes, The Omega Man (recently remade as I Am Legend starring Will Smith) and Soylent Green.
