So I might have a chance with this girl who works at this cafe I've gone to a couple of times. The first time I went there was when I was helping my brother David move, or just before that really. I needed to kill some time and breakfast sounded like a good idea. Had a good conversation with her and found out her name was Shannon.
Went back a week later, and even though it was much busier in there she actually spent more time talking with me than the previous time. Also set up going back there next week to see her. She apparently makes her own tea. So she said if I came in next week that she would bring some in for me to try. So far it seems like we're clicking pretty well. So depending on how things goes with this tea tasting, perhaps I'll see if she'd like to do anything outside of a work setting.
And speaking of tea... This is something that I've been getting into more recently. I've never really been too fond of tea, but I also didn't start trying "good" tea until just a little bit ago. And "bad" tea is still terrible tasting, as I found out last night when I ordered some at the cafe inside Powell's, but the tea I have at home is pretty delicious and I've been drinking at last one glass of it every day since I got it.
And speaking of being at Powell's last night... It was not my original intention to even be there at all. I was supposed to be meeting up with my friend Emily to go see the movie Her. She had some family shit go down at the last minute though, and I was left in downtown Portland with nothing to do. But I guess it turned out alright. I watched some old guys play a game of Go for a while while drinking my gross tea. Then I went and bought Storm Large's memoir, which is pretty amazing so far, and walked to Pints to drink a beer and read for a while.
Then I went to downtown Vancouver and met up with Feathers. He was doing an open mic thing. We hung out with a couple of his friends for a couple hours and had a couple of beers. Set up maybe going to a hot springs next week. Which sounds like an extremely good idea to me right now.
Then I went home and slept for the next 12 hours or so... I was tired...
