When does your sister find out about the Jeopardy madness? :)

And, oh man, Sweeney Todd is made of AWESOME. The missus and I have not stopped quoting it, singing it, and listening to the soundtrack since we saw the movie. Every now and then I have a little sporfle, and that's when she knows I am listening to Alan Rickman going 'barump badump bumpbum' in my head.

She actually hasn't heard back from her primary contact yet. So we're not sure, but I'm pretty sure we may just go to New York however much or little we know about the audition. :)

I was particularly surprised by the large amount of awesome that Sascha Baron Cohen provided. I'm not a fan of his, and what I've seen of Borat rubs me the wrong way... but he was friggin' PERFECT as Pirelli. Om nom nom meat pie man. :3

Oh oh oh! Do you have the actual soundtrack on CD? Because on iTunes if you purchase the full album you get the finale sequence, but the CD I saw in Borders ended at "By The Sea". Inquiring minds want to know!

Also? That scene where Alan Rickman is all "o hay i herd u wer a sailor, I HAS A LIBERRY OF PORN" made me fear so hard for poor little Antony's sweet behind. ;_; halp, I'm a dirty fangirl!

Hee! Keep us posted! :)

Oh yes! I do actually like Sascha Baron Cohen, but I was surprised to hear him sing. And then we downloaded an on-stage production (possibly the Broadway?) and heard Pirelli as a female! I liked the film's take on him much better.

Nope, our CD has 20 tracks - 18: By the Sea, 19: Not While I'm Around, 20: Final Scene. And the liner notes can has pictures.

Oh, man - in the theater when Johnny Depp is leaning in to shave Alan Rickman and they're both singing 'Pretty Women' Joce and I were mumbling 'kiss him, kiss him!' to each other.

I will! :)

...Pirelli as a woman? Okay, actually, you may need to email that to me. (And it may have been the most recent Broadway revival, which had Patti LuPone as Mrs. Crazy Meat Pies, and... she's a great actress, she really is, but her voice is not made for that role at all.)

Can has pictures? My heart is aflutter already.

Hahaha! Personally I thought the Beadle was eyeing up the Judge quite a bit, but then he was eyeing up everything with a pulse, up to and including Toby.

I couldn't agree more (it appears to be the 2005 Broadway Revival, and I'll be happy to send it to you!) - we were rather disappointed by the stage cast after seeing the movie!

Oh yes, the soundtrack is worth it for the liner notes alone. :)

Oh, Timothy Spall, you unfortunately unattractive man, you make such a fantastically slimy villain! I do believe the Judge kept him in line ala butt piracy.

Apparently the 2005 revival was gravely lacking. If you want to see a really good stage production, it was recorded with George Hearn and Angela Lansbury back in 1982. It's fun to compare the stage version and what's on screen now. :)

Oooooh liner notes! Damn you, now I'm going to have to run out to the mall.

Speaking of Timothy Spall butt piracy, have you seen Enchanted yet? SO MUCH LOVE. Also, he's quite good in Topsy-Turvy, where he does a lot more singing, but without butt piracy. I think. On screen, anyway.

We saw the DVD of that at the HMV yesterday (I think), and it looked quite good! It may be worth purchasing when funds permit. :) What e-mail shall I send the 2005 album to?

When I say liner notes I mean lyrics and pictures - I specify just in case my cold-medicine addled brain is misusing the term. :) *paranoid*

I haven't, but I've heard surprisingly good things about it! *IMDB's Topsy-Turvy* It's about Gilbert and Sullivan! Oh, I must see that now! In fact, I must see it yesterday!

It's excellent. And Angela Lansbury is just fantastically vulgar. XD Album goes to rackhamrose at gmail dot com! And not dot come like I almost typed. ._.;;;

Hey, my brain's addled too. PIKTERS IZ GUD!

It's a great movie! Go, get thee to Netflix.

I think the only thing better than Angela Lansbury being vulgar would be Betty White being vulgar... it sounds terrific. :-D

Yah, I'm sitting here in my feverish Robotussin funk trying to play online Scrabble with the wife, when really all I can manage is not drooling on myself while mumbling 'braaaaains'.
