I just came back from seeing The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I was already emotional once the opening credits had rolled, because they are so perfect. Rooney Mara is amazing. Everyone in it is, really. The adaptation was so well done, I just can't even begin to describe it.
I'm eager to see the Swedish version soon, but I doubt it's this well done. From what I've seen of it, it's not, but it does look good. All the people making a big deal out of there being a new version are annoying. How many versions are there of Shakespearean movies? Jane Austen? Okay then. It's one thing to have an aversion to subtitles, because that's just stupid. But it's another thing entirely to be excited by previews for a particular adaptation. I read the books because this version inspired me to. It's not really much different from preferring one Sherlock Holmes over another, I don't think.
