Another Place, Another Time
She’s seen him before, hasn’t she? It doesn’t make sense, they’ve never met but she knows him. It’s like she’s seen his portrait in a watercolour painting but was looking whilst a storm raged on so only the outline could be made out. Like they’ve met in another lifetime. O god she sounds like a deranged lunatic, this is real life not some overly exaggerated Hollywood movie romance.
I mean seriously it’s ridiculous; here she is staring like a compete crazy stalker person, thinking about paintings and past lives and any minute now he’s going to…too late. Their gazes lock and Gwen’s breath catches in her throat, the stranger studies her with such an intensity, she’s starts tugging at her t-shirt making sure that she is in-fact clothed; paranoid she’s as naked as he’s currently making her feel.
His eyes are bright blue, skin white, such a contrast to her own darkness that her mind wanders off to images of their children and the gorgeous skin they’d possess. Ok, she’s lost it, completely lost it, that or she’s read way too many romantic novels?
Her thoughts where moving a hundred miles per hour, everything a great big blur; yet she was deathly aware of each breath he was making and the echoing sound of her increasing heartbeats. Possessed by some unknown force her legs began moving towards him, to her surprise and secret delight he began moving at the same time.
Pressure began to build with each involuntary step she made. The air became thick and humid making her feel light headed. Gwen was suffocating in the feeling that this might be one of those moments that changes everything. The closer she gets the more extreme that feeling is and the harder she’s falling, falling through time and space, searching for a memory she no longer possesses.
She has no idea what he does for a living, she didn’t even know his name…something starting with A, no that can’t be right…right?; but she knew the curves of his face and the spark of his soul and when finally they meet in the centre of the room he speaks hello and she smiles, beams really because right at that moment it doesn’t matter if they shared a past all that matters is they have a future.
